Christmas Revealed!

Picture this:
Joseph wipes the sweat off his brow as he leads the donkey carrying his pregnant wife through harsh terrain, whilst she fights off the contractions. You'd think things would work out once they reach Bethlehem, but wouldn't you know it, there's no more rooms available for them to stay! Fortunately a kindly innkeeper offers to let them stay in his animal stable in the back, where Jesus is born. Shortly after, the shepherds and the three wise men show up to worship the Messiah. Truly a beautiful December night that went down in history.

Too bad that was all a lie.

The mainstream telling of the birth of Jesus has been sugar-coated over the generations to make it more appropriate or more interesting. It's been told and retold in these ways so many times that it's become deeply ingrained in our minds, fiction mixed in with the facts.

I hope that as Christians we all feel that desire to seek out the truth behind stories, not just settle for what we've heard all our lives.
